WHAT IS FAITH? Sermon #1 July 7, 2019

WHAT IS FAITH?

As it is our month of Faith, it is necessary we look at some untold  facts and spiritual realities about faith as the Holy Spirit wills of the Father. There are 6 facts about faith but this morning; we'll look at just two of them and subsequent Sundays, we'll be revealing the rest of it.

1:  —Faith As A Power Point

Looking at a computer, it has a lot of virtues; it is loaded with so much, but until it is connected to the power point, you cannot be a beneficiary of those virtues. Like the computer, redemption makes you a super-loaded being: such that is too loaded to fail and too resourceful to be stranded! But the issue has been our lack of connection to the power point that will help us draw virtue out of our vast resources in Christ. What is that power point? Faith it is. Faith is both a power point and a power link that make for the flow of success in our pursuits.

We understand very clearly from scriptures that faith is the power point of destiny. How is this so? Let's take salvation for instance, you cannot be saved except you have been predestinated for the kingdom (read Romans 8:30). We also know from God's Word that to enter into this destiny of redemption, faith is your access; "But as many as received him, to them gave power to become the sons of God, even to them believe on his name." (John 1:12). It therefore means that even though you have been predestinated, faith is required to enter into that glorious predestination.

2:  —Faith As Power Link

Faith is also the power link between God and man. No matter how devastating your situation may be, faith is able to recover your destiny! We all see a recovery of destiny in the story of the woman with the issue of blood. It was her faith that connected her to the source of power and provoked the flow of that power into her life, to terminate her shame(see Luke 8:44-48); verse 48 specifically said—in the Words of our Lord Jesus Christ, "...Daughter be of good comfort: YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE..."

There's something else beautiful I want you to note in that story, the woman touched Jesus, and who is Jesus? He is the Word of God (See John 1:14). So, when you come across any provision of scripture, and your faith comes alive on such a provision, there is a connection to the flow of unction, and when that unction flows, it changes your position to fall in line with the contents of that provision! In other words, faith connects you to the provision made for you in the Word of God - bringing it to reality or manifestation. That's faith as the power link.

You see, there is enough virtue in the Word of God to lighten every destiny, but faith is what connects you to that power (read John 1:1-5). Faith is what turns the Word of God into the power of God! And it is that power that releases the content of that word into your life. Note this: faith is NOT appreciating the grammatical content of the Word of God: faith is tapping into the power that is behind those scriptures, so as to      re-write your future!
