SALSF:DAILY DEVOTION 08-07-2019
AM I RIGHTEOUS?
"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil" (1 Peter 3:12 KJV).
To answer this question, we need to see what God considers righteous. It says in 2 Corinthians 5:21, that He (God The Father) made Him who knew no sin (Jesus) so that in Him (Jesus) we might become the righteousness of God. This tells you that if you are in Jesus and have accepted Him as your personal Lord & Savior then God The Father views you as He views Jesus. This is blameless and holy. The literal righteousness of God. You know, it is glorious to know that the very nature of God is what we have received by faith in Christ Jesus.
With this being a fact in your life, you can then look at the 1 Peter 3:12. This says that because you are righteous, not of your own works but of those of Jesus, then the eyes of the Lord are on you and His ears are open to your prayers.
By this understanding, you can go into prayer knowing fully that God hears you. You would never have to ask yourself if He is listening when you pray because He has told you that His ears are open to you. You can pray confidently with this understanding and scriptural assurance. That brings us back to the question; am I righteous? If the answer is yes, then keep at it but if deep down in your heart the answer is no, why not get saved today—right now?
Listen, the scripture says in Romans 10:9, "..if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." That's all you're scripturally required to do; believe what Jesus has accomplished for you and confess Him as your Lord and Saviour, so doing, the scripture says "...thou shalt be saved(which also means righteous)". I'll encourage you to say this prayer of salvation and believe that you're saved after your confession.
PRAYER OF SALVATION
Father, I come to you today in the Name Jesus, I believe that you sent Jesus to die for my sin and you raised Him up on the third day for my justification. I confess and accept Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
I pray the Holy Spirit keeps your spirit, soul and body in the faith as you begin this new experience of life and He'll grant you deeper revelation in the knowledge of Christ Jesus and the Love of the Father in Jesus' Name amen!
