WALKING IN FAVOUR!
"Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man." (Proverbs 3:3-4 KJV)
I used to think that if one goes to church regularly, and I prays, that he/she would be walking in favor. But the favor of God requires more than reluctant obedience. It requires more than an investment.
Walking in favor requires your full, complete, undivided attention. It requires you to be fully involved. Favor of God requires you to be plugged in. The circuit of God’s favor cannot be completed until you are part of the cycle! Walking in favor takes effort. Ultimately, having the favor of God requires your decision. It doesn’t come to those who wait. It requires action.
God is everywhere. We can try running from God, pretending that He doesn’t know, but we are ALWAYS in God’s sight. But being in God’s sight doesn’t mean that you are in His intimate presence. Also understand that you can be in His presence without taking part in operational virtue. Let's look at Jonah as an example.
Jonah thought that he could hide from God. When God told Jonah to go one way, he decided to go in another direction. Jonah hid as a stowaway on a boat, and yet he thought that he was still in favor. Understand that Jonah was wrong! The presence and favor of God goes before you to prepare your place of blessing only when you are in agreement with His will over your life. You see, until your thought pattern goes in line with God's agenda for your life, you can't fully walk in God's favor.
Prayer:
In the Name of our Lord Jesus, I pray for you this morning that mercy and favour of God will never elude you. May you find favour with man and God all the days of your life henceforth. You're blessed above curses in Jesus' mighty Name. Amen!
