SALSF: DAILY DEVOTION 17-6-2019

ASK AND GOD SHALL PROVIDE!

"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Romans  8:32 KJV).

God always Provides. It’s your job to ask. When I was a kid, any time I needed something, I’d go talk to my Mum. Sometimes what I needed was expensive, but I remember that not once as a kid did I worry about where my mother was going to get the money for whatever I needed. That wasn’t my job! It was my Mum’s job to figure out where the money was going to come from. It was my job as a kid to simply ask.
It’s not your job to figure out how God’s going to provide. It’s your job to ask. The Bible says in James 4:2, “You do not have because you do not ask God” (NIV).
When it comes to meeting our daily needs and it seems impossible to cope with, we despair and then stress steps in. Worry less, and ask more. Instead of worrying, pray about everything. Our opening verse says, “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (NLT)
If God solved your biggest problem, everything else is small by comparison. Salvation was man's biggest problem and God has solved it through Christ Jesus. Now think about it, if God loved you enough to send Jesus to die for your sins, don’t you think He loves you enough to help you with your finances? Don’t you think He loves you enough to help you with your health? With your relationships? With career decisions? With your academics? With your family?

There’s no area of your life that God is not interested in. He already knows what you need, but He still wants you to ask Him for it. Instead of worrying, pray about everything (see Mark 11:24).

Prayer:

Father in the Name of Jesus, thank you for the salvation of my soul and for the provision of my daily needs. My sufficiency is in you. You are my Shepherd and I shall not want in Jesus' Name. Amen!
